For S/S 2013, Creative Director Bernardo Rojo takes a cue from some of Hollywood’s most iconic rebels to craft a collection that channels the effortless confidence and stoicism of leading men then and now—rule breakers that redefined the hero, in films from the timeless Rebel Without a Cause to today’s Drive. A bold color palette and 80’s-inspired volume add a dash of modern audacity to classic menswear pieces—contrasted by 50’s era innocence, provided by high-waisted pleated trousers, candy-striped Western shirts, and trucker jackets. Pairing irreverent pops of gloss with relaxed American sportswear staples, the collection brings together grit and glamour in an unmistakable homage to L.A.

The Joseph Abboud F/W 2012 collection expresses a mood of artful masculinity, taking cues from the strength and utilitarian beauty of mid 1930′s America–an age where industriousness and ingenuity gave way to resiliently elegant new forms. Silhouettes nod to the graceful steel structures that defined the era, underscored by a strong shoulder with a modern streamlined fit.
As we stand at this moment, where once again the ground has shifted and men are building their own destinies from scratch, Creative Director Bernardo Rojo draw a nostalgic inspiration through a visionary lens to create a collection that captures the subtle and complex art of looking the part.
Joseph Abboud Launches iPad Application
In March 2012, Joseph Abboud modernized the retail landscape with the launch of their iPad Made-to-Measure Application. In partnership with Nordstrom and available exclusively in the Nordstrom’s menswear department, the app serves as a business-to-business solution to create a one-of-a-kind customer experience. This app is the first of its kind that the Nordstrom team is trained to measure with and use, better enabling customers to browse and choose from the full range of Joseph Abboud fabrics and showcase custom suit detailing to create a perfect personalized piece of fashion for each client. The order is handled by the Nordstrom team and immediately placed with the Joseph Abboud Factory in New Bedford, MA.
